Airmanship Framework
Overview
A focused workshop designed to transform your hour-building phase into structured professional development.
Most pilots view hour building as a hurdle to clear. This session reframes it as your first command upgrade. Accumulating hours alone does not develop judgement; airlines assess how decisions are made, how risks are managed, and how command thinking develops over time.
The aim is to instill airline-grade habits early, ensuring you arrive at commercial training with the mindset of a professional. Flying by these standards now, the airline interview becomes a natural display of your habits rather than a rehearsed act.
This workshop is included within Milestone 1.
What the workshop covers:
Amateur vs. Professional
How to switch your mental model from cadet to future captain. We define the specific behaviours of a career professional, from pre-flight discipline to in-flight decision making. You will learn to treat every flight with the rigor of a commercial sector.
Making Hours Count
Hour building is expensive and often repetitive. You will learn how to design structured training scenarios for your solo flights. This prevents the stagnation and ensures every flight builds specific, career-long skills rather than just adding numbers to a logbook.
The Airline Scorecard
We introduce the 9 Core Competencies grading system used in most airlines. You will learn to evaluate your own performance against these metrics, giving you an objective standard of "Good" to aim for on every flight. Mastering this framework now ensures you are speaking the recruiter's language long before you enter the interview room.
Confidence in the Cockpit
Flying alone is the first true test of command. You will develop practical tools to manage real-world threats, handle the "startle effect," and make safe, defensible decisions when you are the only one on board.
Format
This is a live, interactive small-group workshop. Attendance is limited to ensure the session remains interactive and there is sufficient time for individual questions.
