    I am Mark Lendvay, an active Senior Training Captain and former Airline Assessor.

    Having assessed hundreds of candidates across every stage of airline recruitment, I see a clear pattern in who gets hired and who doesn't.

    The hard part of the job was turning down someone who could have made it, and not being allowed to tell them why.

    Almost everyone who gets rejected is flying blind. They never find out what went wrong, so they walk into the next one carrying the same mistake.
